May 15th is Senior Fraud Awareness Day. Older adults are responsible for 70% of America’s deposit balances and make up more than half of all bank depositors. They’re also one of the nation’s most vulnerable populations. As older adults age, they’re more likely to have one or more chronic conditions, experience cognitive decline, become frail and be dependent on others for help with daily living. As a result, they need more support from their communities, including the financial services industry.Caregivers play a vital role in protecting the elderly from financial exploitation. Peoples State Bank is proud to donate $1,000 to Peyton’s Promise to help them with their “loose change” drive at the Wausau Children’s Festival, hosted by the Marathon County Park, Recreation and Forestry Department. Peyton’s Promise is a student-operated organization that provides food and money to Marathon County food pantries to help those who need nutritional assistance. We're getting SUPER excited about our upcoming Peoples for Pets event! Peoples for Pets is a family-friendly fundraiser that will be hosted on Friday, May 31st, 2024, at our Stevens Point branch: 138 McDill Ave, Stevens Point, WIThere will be kid’s games, face painting, disc golf games, silent auction, delicious ice cream, and a brat fry. The petting zoo will be available from 11am-3pm. Wisconsin native Billy Bronsted will be joined by Steven Point’s favorite Augie Dougherty of ‘Armchair Boogie’ for live music from 4pm-7pm. This will be this place to be and enjoy an afternoon of fun to kick off Summer 2024!
