A second storm moved through the island of Kaua‘i on Sunday, adding to the mess created from an earlier hydrological event that wreaked havoc on local roads and properties.The latest storm dropped less than an inch of rain as of noon on Sunday, the National Weather Service (NWS) reported, but came after damage assessments were done on Saturday in the aftermath of a doozy of a storm on Thursday evening and Friday morning.

Turn around if you encounter a flooded roadway.𝗖𝗟𝗢𝗦𝗨𝗥𝗘𝗦: Per Caltrans District 11, as of 10:30AM Tuesday, the eastbound on-ramps to SR-78 at El Camino Real remain closed to pump out standing water. 𝗙𝗢𝗥𝗘𝗖𝗔𝗦𝗧: Wet weather is on the menu for much of the week before sunshine returns this weekend. More moderate rainfall will become "showery" Tuesday afternoon and evening along with a slight chance of thunderstorms.𝗗𝗥𝗜𝗩𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗖𝗢𝗡𝗗𝗜𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡𝗦: Thanks for taking it slow on the slippery roadways, leaving plenty of room between cars, and braking gently to avoid skidding. Be sure to use headlights if your wipers are on to ensure everybody sees you.𝗛𝗜𝗚𝗛 𝗧𝗜𝗗𝗘𝗦: There will be significant high tides this week and through the weekend. The South Strand is likely to be closed during these morning high tides. When the high tides begin to recede, Public Works crews will clear any cobble and reopen the Strand to traffic.     ...LIDIA DISSIPATES, BUT HEAVY RAINFALL AND FLOODING CONTINUE OVER PORTIONS OF WESTERN MEXICO......THIS IS THE LAST NHC ADVISORY...At 400 AM CDT (0900 UTC), the remnants of Lidia were located about 145 miles (235 km) north-northeast of Guadalajara, Mexico. The remnants are moving toward the northeast near 23 mph (37 km/h). Maximum sustained winds are near 35 mph (55 km/h) with higher gusts. The estimated minimum central pressure is 1003 mb (29.62 inches).HAZARDS AFFECTING LANDRAINFALL: The remnants of Lidia are expected to produce an additional 2 to 4 inches across portions of western Mexico through today, bringing storm total amounts to 12 inches locally. This rainfall may produce flash and urban flooding, along with possible mudslides in areas of higher terrain near the coast. SURF: Swells will continue to affect the west coast of Mexico and the Baja California peninsula through today. These swells are likely to cause life-threatening surf and rip current conditions.
